Why Locals Love EVIA Greek Restaurant

EVIA Greek Restaurant, nestled in the heart of Bellevue, PA, offers an authentic taste of Greece that transports diners straight to the Mediterranean with every bite. This charming, intimate eatery exudes a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for both casual lunches and relaxed dinners. The aroma of traditional Greek spices welcomes guests as they step inside, setting the stage for a truly memorable dining experience.

Specializing in classic Greek cuisine, EVIA is renowned for its expertly crafted gyros and fresh, vibrant salads. Among the standout dishes, the Pork Yeero Authentic is a must-try — hand-stacked seasoned pork shoulder sliced directly off the spit, served on a perfectly grilled pita with handcut fries, fresh tomato, red onion, and their signature creamy Greek yogurt tzatziki. For those who prefer poultry, a grilled marinated chicken breast substitution is equally delightful. The Lamb Gyro Americano, a succulent blend of lamb and beef carved from the spit, is elegantly paired with crisp spring mix, ripe tomato, red onion, and the same luscious tzatziki that defines their sandwiches.

Complementing these hearty offerings are a variety of fresh salads bursting with authentic Greek flavors. The Greek Salad features imported feta cheese, Kalamata olives, roasted red peppers, pepperoncini, cucumber, and onion—each bite tangy and refreshing, with a side of grilled pita and house-made Greek dressing enhancing the experience. For a wholesome, vibrant option, the Evia Bowl combines bulgur wheat, spicy onions, chickpeas, and roasted red peppers tossed in a zesty lemon vinaigrette. The Beets & Grilled Manouri Cheese salad adds a gourmet touch with roasted beets and delicately grilled cheese, offering a fragrant, lush contrast in flavor and texture.

Reviews from delighted patrons echo the genuine quality and care that EVIA infuses into each dish. Antoinette G fondly recalls the perfectly seasoned dolmathes (stuffed grape leaves) that awaken the palate and the deeply flavorful Pork Yeero Americana. Ron May raves about the authentic homemade Moussaka, noting its creamy richness and the attentive, accommodating service that makes every visit feel special. Ulyana K’s adventurous tastes led her to sample not only savory favorites like Keftethes (Greek meatballs) but also traditional desserts such as baklava cheesecake and melomakarona, each indulgence highlighting the kitchen’s skillful balance of sweet and spice.

The restaurant’s intimate size—just a few tables—creates a cozy, neighborhood feel that enhances the authenticity of the whole experience. Guests like Glor Mancilla appreciate the staff's genuine warmth and their readiness to accommodate dietary restrictions while ensuring the food remains bursting with flavor. James Watt’s glowing praise for both the lamb and pork gyros captures the heart of EVIA’s culinary ethos: bold, honest flavors made from scratch with love and tradition.

Whether you are a devoted fan of Greek cuisine or exploring these tastes for the first time, EVIA Greek Restaurant offers a genuine, mouthwatering journey to Greece without leaving Bellevue. Open the door at EVIA and you will be greeted with the most amazing aroma of Greek specialties...the restaurant is tiny, just a few tables for dine-in and was super-charming. The meals were delicious: *Dolmathes, or stuffed grape leaves, with lemon to start, just enough to share as an appetizer and perfectly seasoned. *Pork Yeero Americana was extremely flavorful and delicious * Moussaka, or Greek vegetable casserole with beef, was hearty with well seasoned beef. The salad served with it was so large, it could be shared; salad dressing was housemade, light and flavorful. *Green tea, in a can, imported from Greece added to the Greek feel...photos of all are posted. Clean plate and no room for dessert! HIGHLY recommend and will return.

I haven't tried too many Greek restaurants in Pittsburgh, and I don't eat Greek often, but Evia had high ratings. And, I unfortunately missed Greek Festival this year! It's a small shop 30 minutes away from my house. I decided to give them a try. Order the Keftethes (Greek meatballs), baklava cheesecake, Melomakarona (honey and walnut cookies), Galaktoboureko, and saganaki with pita. Wow, this food was very good. The meatballs were flavorful and huge! Their entree portions are absolutely enormous and it was just $12! Such a great deal. Their tzatziki dip pairs excellently with these meatballs. I could have bought a bottle of that sauce, or ordered an entire appetizer of tzatziki with pita. It's that good. Their rice is fluffy and buttery. Very good texture for rice (but no mix ins). The saganaki was an interesting appetizer. I bet it's a lot better if you dine in (I picked up my order) because it's called 'flaming cheese' meaning it should be hot. Still, I microwaved it and this cheese is for sure high quality (imported Kefalograviera cheese). It's somewhat like a combination of mozzarella with feta, but hardened. There is pita served with it, and this pita is very good. Way better than store bought. I love that it soaked up some of the cheese oils. Their desserts are also very high quality and clearly homemade. My favorite was surprisingly their Melomakarona, honey and walnut cookies. The price is excellent and the flavors are too. Buttery, sweet, and just incredible. For just $3, why not try them? Just add them to your order, and you'll enjoy these lovely cookies which are typically eaten at Christmas time. The 2 other desserts I tried were good, but not as good as the cookies. The galaktoboureko was tasty but I wish there was more custard. The honey topping was great though, and there was quite a bit of cinnamon. The Baklava cheesecake was creamy and unique. The crust was made of walnuts. I enjoyed it. All in all, I highly recommend Evia Greek restaurant. I believe they are owned by the same family which owns Salonika Imports (which I've also been interested in trying). Their food is delicious, unique, authentic, and cheap for the portions! Will come back for spanakopita, pastitso, or moussaka.

My partner and I dined in spontaneously while exploring the area, and what a wonderful hole-in-the-wall local restaurant to find! The food was made fresh and accommodated our dietary restrictions while still being beyond delicious. The staff were incredibly welcoming, offered menu suggestions, and were even so kind as to offer us tastes of other menu items aside from our ordered entrees (Loukanico & Dolmathes 10/10!). Definitely recommend for anyone looking for a great and filling meal. Thanks for the fantastic service, we had an awesome experience eating at Evia and can’t wait to be back!

Wow. This place is awesome. I had a lamb gyro; it was perfect in every way and earned this place five stars. I decided to try the pork "yeero" before I left. I'm not usually impressed by gyros of any meat besides lamb. Sure, you can make many tasty gyro like handhelds, but they are never as good as a gyro. That was my opinion until today when I tried the pork. Oh my gosh. Outstanding. I can't wait to come back. I'm telling everyone about this place!

We ordered takeout so atmosphere isn’t relevant although I would not want to dine in bc doesn’t look comfortable. The food however was wonderful and good value. We had lamb shank w/lemon potatoes+green beans-cooked to perfection-they even gave us extra sauce which we totally used. It’s hard to find meat-filled grape leaves-theirs were perfect w/yogurt sauce! We will definitely order takeout again! Such a Greek gem!

Best gyro in Pittsburgh in my opinion. Only other one that I’d same comes close is Mike & Tony’s. The workers (and owner?) are so nice and welcoming! The food is fantastic and it’s a cute little restaurant. If you’re a Bellevue local you already know about this place, but if you’re passing through I’d highly recommend getting a gyro to go! Also the Greek fries are delicious if you like feta cheese. NOTE: I wouldn’t recommend the spicy onions on the gyro. They were good but I think it’s better as original.
